Melia Iguazu - Puerto Iguazufrom United StatesGroup of friendsJuly 201810.0Exclusive
* 5 stars is 5 stars. very impressive * breakfast is excellent. alot of varieties * impressive view of the iguazu falls * inroom food is well price * bars(drinks) are expensive - drinks and foods are in line with expectation for a five stars hotel. * room is clean * bathroom is small * very good quality food, well prepared and beautifully presented. Don't listen to the lonely planet people(2010). They are full of themselves!. They probably had a bad case of diarrhoea when they wrote their summation. * short walk to iguazu falls
Sliding door needs repair – found it very hard to open/close - room number 266 and there is no privacy/security on the balcony/room

Melia Iguazu - Puerto Iguazufrom United StatesCoupleJuly 20186.2Good
Average score. Negatives: very very dated room (needs major updating), shocking shower with barely any water coming out. Positive: location, location, location!!!! And food was pretty good too... In fact, the only reason you would choose this hotel is because it's in the park and thus gives you easier access to the falls... but it's not a 5-star, more like a 3-star. Expensive but it's all about the location sometimes...

Location
A non-descript building with dull rooms built as a tourist farm where hordes of tour buses come and go. if you have the opportunity pay a little more and stay on the Brazilian side at a real charming & luxurious 5 star hotel- Hotal das Cataratas.

The view from our room was magnificent and this is what you come for after all. Although this hotel is expensive, it is well worth it on this basis. If you can go when there is a full moon, there are night walking tours of the falls which must be fantastic.
A pity the musician in the restaurant found it necessary (although they maybe they were requests) to play Beatles and Frank Sinatra on the local harp - otherwise his playing of the music of the area was great.

Melia Iguazu - Puerto Iguazufrom United StatesOlder travelersJune 20187.4Very good
The location was great. It was the only lodging within the park. You can get an early start on seeing the falls, before the masses of tourists arrive.
The entire hotel needs an interior renovation. The rooms were dated and tired looking and were equivalent of a 3.5 star hotel.

Great view, very clean, helpful staff - all around great experience.
Dinner food could have been more tasty and hotter.

Fantastic setting and normal service you'd expect from a Sheraton hotel
Pretty ugly building but you'll not be spending your time looking at it anyway

I liked the views and the balcony looking out at Iguazu Falls.
You are certainly paying for the location, the hotel is by no means luxury, the rooms are small and very much of an average standard. I paid for the views however and they were amazing.

The location being near to the Falls with many trails from the hotel. The view from the Falls View rooms with balcony. The food was good with very generous portions.
The Bar Staff could be more pro-active in asking people if they want a drink. It was difficult to order drinks from the Pool area.

I enjoyed the relaxing nature of Iguazu. The park was peaceful and enabled the ability to "unplug" from the pressures of work.
I could hear other guests conversations through the walls.

Melia Iguazu - Puerto Iguazufrom United StatesOlder travelersMarch 20189.2Superb
Everything was excellent.
My wife and I have two suggestions (and complaints). First, we should have been warned about he biting insects in the park. My wife got more than a dozen terrible bites. We should have been told to use insect repellent. Some of the bites may have occurred on the hotel patio at dusk. Second, we booked a boat ride in the lobby. And while the agent told us we would get "wet," she should have told us to wear bathing suits and tee shirts, not every-day clothes. We were utterly and completely soaked to the bone after the ride. This could have been easily avoided.

The location is excellent. The building isn't the most attractive but is well appointed and the rooms are clean and fresh. The views of Las Cataratas are fantastic. the food was generally good, albeit catering more for an international market rather than reflecting Argentinian food we found everywhere else.

Staff were very helpful and friendly and speak excellent English as well as Spanish. Falls view room had an excellent view. Hotel is in the best location to see the Iguazu Falls. Tour desk at the Hotel is great with helpful staff.
A bit too expensive for the room and also the restaurant but to be expected given the limited options for such excellent location. An atm would be useful.

Melia Iguazu - Puerto Iguazufrom United StatesGroup of friendsMarch 20189.6Exclusive
Service in general was really nice. Very exclusive location where you can see direct view of Iguazu falls. There is also tour options they offer for outside the park.
It's too exclusive location, Inside national park. So after park hour, you have just 1 restaurant - inside hotel, unless you call a taxi to go out. When you opt to go out, don't forget to ask hotel credentil so that you don't need to pay park fee again.
